Local Attractions

These photos show places within 2 hours of the cottages

A pleasant circular walk to the Wairau Lagoons and the wreck of the Waverley. A spot of kayaking in the Sounds (bring your own dog!). About 1.5 hours south there is a great spot for watching young seals - a natural seal kindergarden.
Sawcut Gorge is a great day's walk. For the more adventurous, the Nelson Lakes Park has plenty to offer. Early moring light at Rarangi Beach.
Monday night at Seumus' Bar in Picton. Swimming with the dolphins at Kaikoura is a fantastic experience. Or you could just keep an eye on the locals such as this endangered New Zealand falcon.
